Description

An unusual of fine quality matching pair of silver and cut crystal ink wells and desk tidies, hallmarked Birmingham 1903/06. Each piece with D shaped silver frames in a basket style with D shaped carrying handles to the sides.  The frame sides with a fretted stylised flower head design and matching rims to the top and base with small pad feet set to the undersides. The interiors of each with two piece crystal liners: the back section forming desk tidies or to hold letters, the front section forming an ink well with hinged silver lids. Each piece bears the makers mark for Birmingham silversmiths John Grinsell & Sons along with clear hallmarks to all sections. Both superbly made and presented in perfect condition. Each measures 6" wide at the rear x 3.75" deep x 4" high. Stock number 42308.
