An Antique Victorian mahogany cased 8 Day single fusee wall clock.c.1890. Made by highly regarded maker. Kendal & Dent* of London. Original 12" enamel dial bearing the maker's name and 'Maker's to the Admiralty' . Heavy cast brass bezel opening front. Polished mahogany moulded edge surround, with side and base opening doors. Original brass pendulum & key to the quality fusee movement. Full working order. Superb quality. Measures 15" diameter overall x 6"deep. Stock no.35873 *Dent of London is a renowned company of clockmakers, established by Edward John Dent in 1814. They were commissioned to... make the Standard Clock at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich which was to keep “Greenwich Mean Time” the time to which all others in the Empire were referred. In 1852, Dent were awarded the contract to make London’s “Big Ben” clock. They were also awarded Royal warrants by Queen Victoria, later renewed by Edward VII and George V.
