Arts and Crafts 'Sit ye on' Glasgow School Stool
An unusual Edwardian Glasgow school Arts and crafts planished copper topped stool with 'sit ye on' embossed to the outer boarder c.1900. The small circular stool formed in solid ebonised beech, three turned slightly tapering and splayed legs to the underside. The thick top covered in hand worked copper with visible brass headed securing studs to the sides of the surface. The top with planished finish to the centre and broad hand worked embossed script to the boarder in the Glasgow school of arts style reading 'sit ye on' with a decorative motif sat between each word. Superbly made and prese...nted in excellent original condition, ideal as a stool, occasional table or small lamp table.
