Charles I Period Oak Single Panel Coffer

A small proportioned Charles I period oak single panel coffer in superb original unaltered condition c.1630. Simple stop moulded frame to all four sides with pegged joints throughout. Inset figured oak panels to the frame and an original hand forged iron lock plate to the front. Hinged planked lid above, which opens to reveal a clean interior with original hinges (albeit moved from the original position). Superb rich colour and rich patina with full length stiles forming the feet. Measures 25" wide x 16.5" deep x 17.5" high. Stock number 43161.
