A Charles II period oak Wainscot chair with diamond carved panel to the back, original crest and superb patina c.1660. The back with moulded frame and original scroll design carved crest, stylised flower with leaves above to the centre; original scroll design ears sat either side. The back panel with diamond design carving to the centre. Swept rolled over arms sat on turned supports running into the turned legs. Moulded apron below the original seat and matching aprons to the sides, base stretcher to the front and sides; original rear legs formed from the stiles. Superb ...original unaltered condition with a rich dark colour and patina. Measures 24" wide x 20" deep x 44" high to top of the back x 18.5" seat height. Stock number CS297.
