An early brass cased marine barometer with engraved silvered scale and crescent thermometer by Dixey, Bond Street, London c.1875. The brass case with flared rim to the front and hanging loop to the top. Engraved silvered scale barometer with centre reading marker and original mercury action crescent thermometer to the bottom half; aneroid movement sat behind. Glazed view window set in a cast engine turned bezel. Bears the makers name for Dixey, 3 New Bond St, London to the dial, a highly regarded maker of fine instruments and optician to Queen Victoria. Presented in excellent orig...inal unrestored condition and in full working order. Measures 5" diameter x 2.25" deep x 6" high including hanging loop. Stock number 39321.
