An Early Georgian oak cased 8 Day longcase clock of slim proportions.c.1740. Brass and silvered engraved centre dial with gilt spandrels to the corners. Date aperture and seconds count. Strikes on a bell to the hour. Made by John Allen of Macclesfield. Painted lacquered panel to the moulded cornice hood. Toggle fastener to the shaped top case door. Superb rich colour and patina. Full working order. Stands 82"high.
