An early Moorcroft Claremont vase with Burslem mark, signed William Moorcroft c.1915. Bulbous base with wide short neck, the lower half of the vase decorated with a continuous band of tube lined toad stools of various sizes. The toadstools superbly decorated in tones of pinks, reds and blues with yellow speckles. The upper half of the vase painted in a soft laurel green with blue wash to the interior. Signed in full William Moorcroft to the base with Moorcroft, Burslem, England impressions indicating a date of manufacture of c.1915.
