Early Moorcroft Pansy Grey Top Vase
An early Moorcroft pansy pattern vase with Burslem impression and rare grey top, signed William Moorcroft c.1913. Bulbous base with rolled neck; the vase decorated with a continuous band of tube lined pansies and leaf foliage. The pansy flower heads painted in tones of purples with soft green leaves, which are set against a dark blue ground fading to grey at the top, only seen on the earliest examples. Signed William Moorcroft to the base along with Moorcroft factory impression 'Moorcroft, Burslem' indicating a date of manufacture of 1913.
