An early Victorian figured rosewood box with kingwood crossbanding and floral marquetry c.1840. Figured rosewood veneered exterior with kingwood crossbanding to the edge of the lid. Superb quality floral marquetry inlays to the centre of the lid and decorative wavy design moulding to the edge of the base. The hinged lid opening to reveal a burr ash veneered interior to the lid and polished base section; original lock to the front edge. Superb quality and original condition with a rich colour and deep polish. Measures 11" wide x 8" deep x 4.75" high. Stock number 39715.
