Early Victorian Mahogany Library Steps
A set of early Victorian mahogany library steps with concealed compartment and leather treads c.1840. Substantial mahogany veneered construction with three steps; the centre step pulling out to reveal a concealed compartment. Each step with black tooled hide treads and the fronts of the steps with moulded decoration forming a panel to each. The steps sat on small turned mahogany legs.
