A fine quality early Victorian rosewood marine stick barometer and gimble with superb mother of pearl decorative inlay. C.1850. Slim case with arched top, decorative floral mother of pearl inlays and brass cistern cover to the base. Mercury action movement with twin bone scales and remote vernier marker sat behind quarter plate bevel edge glass. Matching bone scale mercury action thermometer to the centre, makers mark to the top ' McGregor & Co Glasgow & Greenock ' Brass securing loop to the top.
