An early Victorian engraved silver vinaigrette with gilt lined interior, hallmarked Birmingham 1847. The solid silver case with hand engraved decoration to each side, small flanges to both sections at the front to aid opening. The hinged case opening to reveal a gilt lined interior with fretwork cover to place the scented sponge behind. Bears the makers mark for Birmingham silversmith Edward Smith, specialist in vinaigrette's. Presented in excellent condition. Measures 1" wide x 0.6" deep x 0.25" high. Stock number 41147.
