A superior quality early Victorian mahogany cased 8 day single fusee dial clock with carved surround by Bennett, London c.1840. The solid mahogany case with turned and carved surround to the dial, matching back box with access door to the base and the side. Convex painted dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands, bears the makers name Bennett, London; sat behind a matching convex glass set in a polished cast brass hinged bezel . The 8 day single fusee movement with shaped plates, anchor escapement and gut drive to the fusee. Presented in excellent original condition, the movement... fully overhauled and working. Measures 12" dial x 15.5" diameter x 7" deep. Stock number 42521.
