A difficult to find Superior Quality' Usborne' Lawn Croquet Set and Stand by F. H. Ayres of London c.1910. Polished ash stand with gilded sign written makers name F H Ayres to the top plate along with the model name The Usborne, Diagonal side framework with turned carrying handle set to the top, and railed base with four cups to hold the balls sat on a central platform at the base. Hinged retaining catches either side of the top rail to hold the mallets in place. Four period mallets with ash handles which sit on the base, and original wood colour coded balls along with a marker pe...g. Comes complete with a set of white painted iron hoops (not shown) Presented in superb original condition throughout with a rich polish.
