An Edwardian period golden oak barometer for wall or desk standing c.1900. The solid oak octagonal shaped case with stepped circular front, the porcelain dial with weather predictions and company name, 'Pinchin Johnsons, Paints & Vanishes' and the caption 'Durable in all weathers' set to the centre. Polished brass bezel with thick bevelled edge glass and centre reading marker. Golden oak finish to the case with firm easel support for desk top use and brass hanging plate for wall mounting. A very unusual item made as a promotional item. Full working order and pre...sented in immaculate condition. Pinchin Johnson & Associates Ltd was a major supplier of paints and coatings to industry and consumers in the first half of the 20th century.
