An Edwardian shallow proportioned solid oak open bookcase with decorative cornice and five adjustable shelves c.1910. Standing six foot tall, the solid oak bookcase has a moulded and carved cornice to the top. The thick oak sides run the full length of the bookcase and form the foot at the base, which has a moulded front apron complementing the design of the cornice. Internal metal runners are inset into both sides of the bookcase for holding the shelf brackets, which allows the five shelves to be set at various heights. Each shelf has a moulded front edge complementing the bookcase design.... The bookcase has an open back allowing the wall behind to show through. For stability, requires fastening to the wall before use. Books shown in images are for demonstration purposes and not for sale. Internal book depth is 6.5"
