A fine quality Edwardian mahogany mantle clock with silver front in the Art Nouveau style and 8 day French movement; fully restored and working, hallmarked Birmingham 1909. The polished mahogany casework with narrow waist and shaped arch top, the front of the case with embossed silver overlay decorated with a flowing flower design in typical Art Nouveau style. Convex porcelain dial with Arabic numerals and blued steel hands set behind a bevelled edge glass, which is mounted in a polished brass bezel. French 8 day movement with platform escapement sat behind the dial. The silv...er front bearing the makers mark for Birmingham silversmiths William Devenport along with clear hallmarks. Presented in immaculate condition, the movement fully overhauled and working. Measures 7" wide at the base x 3" deep x 12.25" high. Stock number 42315.
