A Fine George I period figured walnut longcase clock.c.1720. 10" brass and silvered dial with seconds count and date aperture. Matted centre with ringed winders, gilt spandrels to the corners. Five pillar London style movement striking on a bell to the hour. Small proportioned case with book matched veneers and cross banding throughout. Blind fretwork to the moulded cornice hood, barley twist supports and side view windows to the sides. Made by Joseph Phillips of Bristol (w.1700-45). Full working order. Superb colour and patina. Stands 77"high.
