A Fine George III mahogany cushion top bracket clock.c.1760. Made by Devereaux Bowly of London(1696-1773). Brass and silvered arched top dial to the 8 Day double fuse movement. Gilt spandrels to the corners of the dial and repeated to the case door. Glazed fretwork sides. Original finials and carry handle to the top. Finely engraved backplate to the verge escapement chain driven movement. Strikes on a bell to the hour. Standing on the original bracket feet. Full working order. Measures 11" x 8" x 21"high. *Devereaux Bowly working 1745-72. Well known clockmaker of repeating clocks. Master in 1...759.(Ref: Brittons clockmakers).
