A Fine George III period burr yew chest of drawers with brass swan neck fittings and fold over top forming a writing surface c.1800. The hinged top with burr yew book matched veneers and crossbanded edge, folds over to form a large writing surface with figured veneer interior. When open the writing surface is supported by pull out sleepers to the front of the chest. Four graduated drawers below, each drawer with book matched figured veneers and crossbanded moulded edges plus original brass swan neck fittings. Moulded plinth to the base with bracket feet below,... ash lined drawers with original locks. Presented in excellent condition with a rich colour and polish. Measures 36" wide x 19.75" deep, opening out to 39.5" deep writing surface x 32.5" high. Stock number 42413.
