A fine quality early Victorian silver aide-mémoire with engine turned Venetian scene to the front, by highly regarded and collected maker Nathaniel Mills, hallmarked Birmingham 1849. The silver front with swept sides and engine turned finish, cartouche to the centre with superbly engraved Venetian scene. Matching engine turned finish to the back. Silver pencil to the side, which fits into the original dark red leather binding and holds the aide-mémoire closed. When the pencil is removed the aide-mémoire opens to reveal an original interior with bone pages marked... to the top of each with the days of the week. Bears the makers mark for Nathaniel Mills along with clear hallmarks to all sections. Presented in excellent original condition. Measures 2" wide x 3" long x 0.5" deep. Stock number tba
