A fine quality George V period solid cast silver cased portable barometer with altimeter and crescent thermometer, hallmarked London 1912. The circular cast silver case with rounded edge to the lid and moustache design flange to the front to aid opening. The hinged lid opening to reveal an immaculate interior with fitted barometer to the base section. Two piece silvered dial, the outer section for use as an altimeter, barometer scale set to the inner edge. Crescent shaped thermometer to the bottom half of the centre section with weather predictions to the upper half. Glazed view window sat ...over the top with adjustable engine turned bezel for marking the readings. Bears the makers name to the dial and to all sections of the silver case for J C Vickery, London, along with clear hallmarks to all sections. ( J C Vickery was a leading Regent St retailer known for fine silver, jewellery and dressing cases and held numerous Royal Warrants) Presented in immaculate unused condition, the barometer fully serviced and working.
