A fine quality George III figured mahogany bow fronted secretaire dressing chest with leather topped fitted secretaire drawer c.1760. The bow fronted chest with figured mahogany veneers throughout, moulded edge to the top and drawers to the front with inset cupboard forming a kneehole. The full width top drawer pulling out on runners to allow the leather surface to be used; the leather surface also sliding back to access the fitted drawer below. The drawer below the writing surface fitted with a selection of compartments with removable lids, along with sections for combs, coins and brushes,... plus a removable central mirror with adjustable easel stand, which also has further compartment below. The chest made up to three drawers either side of the kneehole, which has a recessed cupboard sat at the back. Moulded plinth to the base with original splayed bracket feet below. The writing surface is very useable with ample knee room to allow sitting at with a standard chair. Superbly made with top quality timbers and original brass fittings and locks.
