Fine Quality George III Mahogany Serpentine Fronted Chest of Drawers
A fine quality George III period mahogany serpentine fronted chest of drawers with brushing slide and brass swan neck fittings c.1800. Moulded edge crossbanded top with fruitwood strung inner edge; sat over a serpentine front with pull out brushing slide writing surface below. Four graduated drawers with with cock beaded edges and heavy quality brass swan neck fittings. Canted corners triple strung with fruitwood to match the top. Sat on a moulded plinth with original bracket feet set to the corners. Oak drawer linings throughout, superb quality in the manner of Gillows with a rich colour and ...polish. Measures 36" wide x 23" deep x 31.5" high. Stock number 37550.
