A fine quality Persian pure wool 'Turkmen' rug in superb unworn newly cleaned condition c.1910. The short hand woven pile in deep rose pink decorated with an interlocking geometric design; small repeated medallions in champagne creams and golds, which are outlined in black. Complementing geometric double border to the rug edge.  This design is typical of the Turkmen tribes of central Iran and these rugs were often is used as a wall hangings as well as a floor rugs.
