A fine quality William IV figured mahogany double fusee bracket clock by Thomas Collingridge, London with matching bracket, fully restored and working c.1830. The figured mahogany case with swept top, which includes decorative carved acanthus leaf relief to front edge and flower heads pateras to each end. The body of the case with inset brass frame and an inlaid panel below the dial, plus complementing brass stringing to the front edges. The sides of the case with brass sound frets, which include green silk panels behind the fretwork and a floral backplate with ring drop handles above. Moul...ded plinth foot to the base with turned mahogany bun feet below. Convex painted dial with Roman numerals along with the makers name Collingridge, London, plus complementing original blued steel hands. The dial sat behind a convex glass set in a cast brass hinged bezel, which forms a door. The double fusee movement with bell striking on the hour along with a repeater mechanism, wire drives to the fusse barrels and an anchor escapement. The clock complete with rare original matching wall bracket, which has a figured veneers to the front edge to retain the clock in position and moulded swept supporting arm to the underside. Thomas Collingridge is recorded as making clocks from 1830 to the early 1860's at 136 Aldersgate Street, London and was made a freeman of the City of London in 1840. This fine quality example is presented in superb condition with a rich colour and polish, and the movement fully overhauled and working. Measurements quoted are for the clock only. The bracket measures 13" wide x 7.5" deep x 8" high.
