A fine quality early Victorian embossed and engraved presentation tankard depicting a grouse shoot, hallmarked London 1846. Scroll work foot with embossed shells forming an apron. The main body of the tankard embossed and hand chased with a scene depicting a grouse shoot, man with a gun at a gate with retrieving dog chasing an escaping grouse in a woodland setting. Polished cartouche to the rear with the letter D engraved to the centre. Matching decorative cast silver handle set to the side. Bears the makers mark for London silversmiths John & Henry Lias. Heavy quality. Presented in exc...ellent condition with a deep shine. Measures 3" diameter vessel x 4.5" wide including handle x 4.25" high. Stock number 41991.
