Fine Victorian Quality Engraved Silver Card and Stamp Case
A fine quality mid Victorian solid engraved silver calling card and stamp case with original silk lined interior, hallmarked Birmingham 1876. The solid silver case with fine quality deep cut scrole design engraving to both sides which is surrounded by a lunette design boarder, vacant cartouch to the front. The hinged case opening by press catch to reveal an original pink watermarked silk interior with scalloped edges retaining strip to each side to hold the stamps or calling cards in place. Bears the makers mark for Birmingham silversmiths Hilliard & Thomason along with clear hallmarks ...to all sections. Presented in excellent condition.
