George I Oak Close Stool
A Georgian period oak close stool with faux drawers to the front c.1710. Hinged planked top with moulded under edge giving a cornice effect. The front with faux drawers with moulded frame sat in between, plus decorative engraved and pierced two piece lock escutcheon to the lid. Moulded rail with small bun feet to the base and original engraved brass handles to the sides. The hinged lid opening to reveal a clean and useable interior. Excellent original colour and patina and presented in original condition; this piece makes an ideal occasional table or bedside table.
