A George I period figured walnut fall front bureau with superb fitted interior and wonderful original patina c.1725. Figured walnut book matched veneered exterior with crossbanded edges on the bureau top, the fall front and the drawers. The fall front with leather writing surface opening to reveal a superb original fitted interior with cupboard, drawers and pigeon holes to the rear, plus a well to the lower surface, which is sat behind a sliding cover. Concealed drawers sat behind the rear of the centre cupboard plus two additional concealed compartments located behind the pilasters either ...side. The base of the bureau with two small drawers at the top, which form the sleepers to support the writing surface at each side and a two over two drawer formation below. Original top quality brass fittings throughout with decorative handles and backplates. Moulded plinth to the base support with original bracket feet below. Superb original colour with a rich patina this bureau is presented in an excellent original condition throughout.
