A superb George I period figured walnut chest on chest with herringbone crossbanding and rare inverted dished sunburst to the bottom drawer c.1730. Superbly proportioned with broad moulded cornice to the top, two smaller drawers sat over three long drawers below; each oak lined with book matched figured walnut veneers and herringbone crossbanded edges. Moulded waist above the base section with three deep oak lined drawers below each with veneers and herringbone banding to match the top. The bottom drawer with rare inverted dished section to the centre which is veneered in fruitwood giving a... sunburst effect. All drawers with decorative brass handles and matching lock escutcheons. Moulded base rail with swept inset following the line of the sunburst in the base drawer, turned bun feet below and figured book matched veneers to the sides.
