A George I walnut kneehole desk with herringbone crossbanding and brass fittings c.1720. Book matched veneered figured walnut top with crossbanding and moulded under edge. Two top drawers immediately below the top and three small drawers set to each side. Each oak lined drawer includes original back boards with figured veneers and crossbanded edges to the drawer fronts, plus decorative acorn drop brass fittings with complementing lock escutcheons. Moulded edge frame sat in between the drawers and moulded plinth to the base with original bracket feet below. Kneehole to the centre with ...small apron to the top and inset cupboard to the rear. The desk sides with matching figured veneers and crossbanded edges. Presented in excellent condition with a superb colour and polish throughout.
