A George III period burr elm toilet mirror with original mirror glass and three drawer base in superb condition c.1780. Three drawers to the base of the mirror with moulded fronts and brass knobs. The base with a moulded rail, which forms an apron with cut outs to the bottom edge to form small bracket feet. Moulded edge to the surface with choice cut veneers to the top. Two moulded edge uprights set back at a slight angle supporting the mirror. The mirror with moulded edge frame and swept arched top, original quarter plate mirror glass, which is in excellent condition a...nd with a boarded back. Axe drop fittings to each side supporting the mirror and allowing the mirror angle to be adjusted. Rare to find in burr elm, superb colour and patina throughout and presented in excellent condition. Measures 17" wide x 7.75" deep at the base x 29" high to top of mirror. Stock number 42122.
