A George II walnut kneehole desk with herringbone crossbanding and period brass fittings c.1730. Quarter veneered figured walnut top with herringbone crossbanding, moulded edge and tucks to the corners. Long top drawer below the writing surface with three small drawers set to each side; each with burr cut veneers and herringbone crossbanding. Kneehole to the centre with small drawer to the top forming an apron and cupboard to the back with matching veneers and lock escutcheon. Moulded plinth to the base with original bracket feet below. Oak lined drawers with original back bo...ards and decorative brass fittings. Superb colour and polish throughout. Measures 39" wide x 18.5" deep x 28.75" high. Stock number 42980.
