A stylish George III period mahogany framed Gainsborough chair fully reupholstered in red damask fabric c.1800. Swept arched top to the slightly reclined back, open arms set to each side with curved moulded mahogany supports to the front of each and upholstered arm pads to the tops. Deep webbed base seat sat on moulded front legs with splayed legs to the rear supported by a 'H' stretcher. The frame in sturdy and useable condition with no break or repairs, fully reupholstered to a high standard in quality red damask fabric. Measures 38" high to top of chair back x 27" wide x 2...9" deep x 16" seat height. Stock number 38805.
