A superb George III period mahogany brass bound peat bucket with matching original brass liner c. 1780. Bowed sides and concave rim to the top, the solid mahogany planked construction bound with supporting brass binding, cast fittings to the ends holding the brass swing handle. The interior lined with the original removeable brass liner, rolled rim to the top. Superb original colour and polish with a rich patina. Measures 15.5" wide x 11" deep x 15" high at the ends.
