George III Mahogany Stick Barometer

A late George III period mahogany cased stick barometer with engraved silvered scale c.1820. The fine quality solid mahogany case with ruled edge and architectural pediment to the top and twin turned pilasters set to either side of the engraved silvered scale, vernier marker set to the side. The mercury action tube set to the centre of the scale and concealed to the trunk of the case. Superb turned cistern cover to the base with brass locking nut below. Fully working and presented in superb original condition. Measures 38.5" long x 6" wide at the pediment x 3" max depth. Stock number 38127.
