A fine quality George III period mahogany stick barometer with cushion top pediment and silver scale by West of London c.1810. The slim proportioned solid mahogany case with cushion moulded top forming a pediment, slim trunk with figured timbers and moulded edge; turned onion shaped cistern cover to the base. Silvered barometer scale with vernier marker and thermometer set to the side, bears the makers name West, Charing Cross, London. Superb detail throughout, the movement fully overhauled and working and presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and original patina.&nbs...p;Measures 38" long x 5" wide at the pediment x 2.5" wide at the trunk x 3" deep at the cistern cover.
