George III Silver Oak Leaf and Acorn Sugar Basket
An outstanding quality George III silver wire work sugar basket with hand formed oak leaf and acorn decoration, hallmarked London 1771. The solid silver basket with scalloped wire work rope twist design rim, the sides decoration with hand formed oak leaves and acorns on a wire work frame which forms the branches. Flared rim to the foot and hinged rope twist design swing handle to the top. The interior of the basket holding the original hand formed Bristol blue glass liner which sits perfectly into the frame and is in damage free condition. Bears the makers mark for London silversmith David ...Bell. Superb detail throughout presented in immaculate perfect condition.
