Description

A early George III solid silver wine funnel in superb condition, hallmarked London 1769. The bowl with decorative beaded rim to the edge and shaped thumb piece set to the outer edge; piercing to the bottom of the bowl forming the strainer. Removable tight fitting spout below. Matching hallmarks to all sections, an unusually early example as wine funnels were not widely used until the late 18th century. Makers mark we believe to be for John Barbe, presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine. Measures 3" diameter at the bowl x 4.5" long.  Stock number 39840.
