A George III period sycamore Windsor chair with ash seat c.1790. Bent wood sycamore back with matching bent wood arms flaring outwards. Railed comb back with ring turned supports at the front edge of the arms, the joints showing through on the top of the arms. Turned front legs with original full length feet supported by a H stretcher, simple turned legs to the rear. Hand cut figured ash seat with moulded surface. Traces of the original green painted finish showing on the underside, superb colour and rich polish. Measures 22" wide x 19" deep x 40" high to top chair back x 18" seat heig...ht.
