A George III period mahogany oval lidded wig box with fruitwood inlays and brass bindings, in superb original condition c.1780. The oval box cut from thin strips of solid mahogany, which form a seamless slightly flared base section with brass bound rings and original lock to the front. The hinged lid with fruitwood and boxwood oval inlaid panel to the centre and complementing fruitwood banding to the outer edge.
