A superb George II period oak planked top 8 seat refectory table with turned bulbous legs and H base stretcher c.1740. The three board plank top with cleated ends overlapping the base to allow seating at each end. The table surface sat on a moulded edge top rail with bulbous turned and carved 'cup & cover' legs set to each corner, which are supported by an H base stretcher. Superb rich colour and patina throughout. Seat 3 to 4 people each side and 1 at each end with ease and with ample knee room. Measures 95" long x 28" wide x 30" high. Stock number 42...115.
