A small Georgian primitive Vale of York elm chair with bentwood railed back c.1760. The hand cut single piece D shaped seat with moulded top and visible pegs for the legs showing through. Simple railed back with bentwood arm support above and bent ends to the underside of the arms; typical of the York area. Simple turned legs to the base, which are set at an angle. Superb colour and patination throughout with remnants of old green paint in places. Presented in superb original condition.
