A fine quality George III silver berry straining ladle with embossed and gilded well, hallmarked London 1798. The solid silver ladle with fine quality chased and engraved decoration to both sides of the handle. The well with frilled edge and embossed and engraved fruit and berries design decoration; the stems of leaves forming the holes for the strainer. Bares the makes mark for London silversmiths and flatware makers William Ely & William Fern along with clear hallmarks. Heavy quality and presented in immaculate condition with excellent gilt finish to the well. Sat in a leather cloth c...ase with silk and velvet lining.
