A fine quality George III period solid silver twin handled loving cup with outstanding embossed country scene, hallmarked London 1765. The cup with dished base and slightly flared rim, decorated with an embossed decoration depicting a country scene. One side with sheep grazing in a country setting with a tree set to one side. The opposite side with two beehives and harvesting tools with rose decoration above. Stepped flared foot with decorative engraving and large plain handles with thumb plates to the base of each. Bears the makers mark for London silversmiths Jacob Marsh along with clear ...hallmarks to the base and handles. Presented in immaculate undamaged condition with a deep shine. Measures 8.25" wide including handles x 4.5" diameter at the rim x 6.25" high. Stock number 40566.
