An Impressive Mid Georgian oak cased 8 Day longcase clock.c.1760. Made by Major Schofield of Rochdale*. Brass and silvered engraved dial with seconds count and date aperture. Strikes on a bell to the hour. Shaped top case door flanked by reeded columns. Swan neck pediment and reeded pillars to the hood. Raised panel to the canted corner base, standing on bracket feet. Full working order. Superb quality. Measures 20.5" x 9.5" x 90"high Major Schofield Senior of Rochdale (Manchester) 1707-1783. Prolific clock making family of three generations.
