Large Edwardian Silver Four Head Owl Calling Card Holder
A large and unusual Edwardian solid silver four head owl calling card holder with glass eyes, hallmarked Birmingham 1906. Domed base with slot cut at and angle to hold the card, the owl mounted to the front. Superbly detailed and cleverly fashioned owl with head to the front and rear, when viewed from either side giving the impression that the owl is looking to the side. Original amber and black glass inset eyes to both sides. Bears the makers mark for Birmingham silversmiths Britton, Gould & Co along with clear hallmarks to all sections.
