A fine quality late Victorian mahogany cased 8 day double fusee bracket clock with engraved gilt and silvered dial c.1890. The solid mahogany case with bell shaped top sat over a moulded edge forming a cornice. Canted reeded corners and moulded base, the front door with a broken arch design view window; matching door to the rear. Brass carry handle to the top and spherical brass finials to the corners, brass stringing to the canted corners; brass trim and bracket feet to the base. The fine quality dial with engraved silvered chapter ring, gilded centre and engraved corners, subsid...iary time keeping adjustment dial to the arch and bears the makers name A & H Rowley, London. The substantial double fusee movement with original chain drives and anchor escapement, strikes on a gong on the hours and half hours. Presented in superb original condition with a rich patina to the case and fully serviced (please click video link to view the clock striking).
